Prof. Dr. Carola Sachse
Carola Sachse is Professor Emerita at the Institut für Zeitgeschichte (Institute of Contemporary History) at the University of Vienna, where she taught between 2004 and 2016. Prior to that, she was Research Director in the MPG Research Program "History of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society in the National Socialist Era." The central focus of her research is on the history of science and the history of gender in the 20th century. For the GMPG Research Program, she explores the history of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs, an initiative of transnational second-track diplomacy which originated in 1955–57, with special focus on the involvement of MPG scientists.
